CHURCH have secured the services of prolific professional Ruvin Peiris for a third season.
The Sri Lankan international has signed a deal for next summer to continue his successful association with the Blackburn Road club.
"We are very pleased to have him coming back again," said chairman Don Holt.
"A lot of people were chasing him which is why we have done it now.
"He wanted to stay, we put a package to him and he accepted it. He is a super player, the lads like him and he is a very good club man."
Peiris broke the club's batting record last season with a total of 1,295 Lancashire League runs at an average of 61.67, and also weighed in with 56 wickets with his left-arm spin as Church just missed out on the title.
The 34-year-old has continued in that vein of form this season with over 600 runs and 34 wickets so far.
Peiris will return to play first-class cricket for the Moors Sports Club in Sri Lanka this winter with his country's domestic programme set to return to normal following the devastation of the Boxing Day Tsunami which curtailed last season's fixtures.
