MR KNUZDEN, David 'Dusty' Miller, has been awarded a certificate for his 'valued contribution to local society'.
Mr Miller founded Knuzden Football Club in 1990 as he wanted to try and stop youths congregating in the area and decided to provide an organised activity for them.
Since then the club has gone from strength to strength and there are teams from Under sevens up to seniors who play in the various leagues in the area.
'Dusty' manages one of the sides as well as being president of the club.
The 61-year-old was awarded the Co-Operative Insurance certificate for his work with young people and adults in football.
He said: "I was absolutely gobsmacked when I found out. I'm thrilled to have been recognised after all these years. I've done 17 seasons with the club and it's more like a hobby to me.
"The greatest bit about the job is that I get to watch the young people grow up and I have 14 scrapbooks of photographs of all the teams which I often look back through and have a laugh when I think back."
