Ian Entwistle’s cage fighting career is going from strength to strength. The former Hollins High School pupil turned professional last year and, along with coach Jimmy Hey, he now trains under Apex MMA.

He recently won Fighter of the Month award from MMA Hit Pit magazine and Embassador of the Month from JST Nutrition.

And at his recent fight, he made such an impression he has been offered a place on the next London Cage Warriors card.

Entwistle recently fought on one of the biggest events in the country, Cage Warriors 40.

Jimmy said: "The event has showcased the talents of great British fighters such as Mick Bisping, Dan Hardy and Rosi Sexton to name a few.

"It was streamed live worldwide and it set the perfect stage for Entwistle to take his pro record to three fights, three wins. It all started when Ian was approached by Ian Dean, the country’s leading promoter, to match up against local London favourite Pat Vickers who was also unbeaten in his pro career. "

The event was in front of a sell-out crowd at HMV Forum in Londont

Jimmy continued: "We checked Pat out and thought he woulds be the perfect fight for Ian to take.

"At the weigh-in the day before Ian hit the scales at 70.5kg after a torturous weight cut. But by the time he stepped into the cage he was an impressive 77kg."

And Entwistle, who hoped to carve out a career as a professional footballer at Rochdale before damaging his knee as a teenager, started off in whirlwind fashion, overcoming the formidable Vickers in just 20 seconds.

"The Vickers fans where stunned initially but then there was a massive roar as people realised they had just seen one of the fastest submissions in cage warriors history," said coach¿Hey.
