THE Hyndburn Hall of Fame is set to be officially opened on July 8 at Hyndburn Sports Centre.
And organiser Ray Clark is making a final appeal for photographs of several of the sports stars who he hopes will be displayed there.
They are Jack and Bill Finney (played for Accrington Stanley and Accrington CC before First World War); Jackie Chew (Burnley FC 1945-53), George Bray (who played in the 1947 FA Cup final for Burnley); Jack Bray (pre-war Man City and England); Dick Webster (pre-war Stanley player).
They are also looking for pictures of: David Richardson (Refereed League Cup final), Steven Poulter (swimmer in two Olympics 1980 and 1984); Ian Peel (won silver medal at Olympics 2000) and Rachel Brown (current England goalkeeper).
Anyone who can help, please send the photographs (preferably 10 x 8) to Ray Clark, 25 Whitecroft View, Baxenden BB5 2QP or ring 01254 392941. Former England hockey ace Val Robinson, from Accrington, will officially open the Hall of Fame.
