MOORHEAD Sports College Year 11 football team are celebrating their first win - after FIVE years of trying.
The team have been together since Year Seven and have been battling for a victory.
And it finally came against Bowland High School with Sam Watts scoring the winning goal in the 1-0 win.
"They celebrated like they had won the FA Cup final," said Head of PE Andy Kelly.
"When they came to the school for the open evening five years ago, it didn't have any sports facilities and it wasn't a sports college so the children we were attracting then were not particularly sporting kids.
"No one in that year plays football out of school so it is history in the making - it is an achievement!
"They were over the moon."
