GREAT Harwood are waiting to see what happens after finishing fifth in the NWCL Division Two.

The Robins have won four out of their last five games to seal the top five spot but the make-up of the leagues for next season isn't yet finalised.

"We know the top two will definitely go up," said chairman Bill Holden. "But there has been talks of a new Midlands League so we will have to wait and see."

Harwood finished off the season with a 2-0 win over Eccleshall on Saturday.

"We finished strongly. If we had started the season as we finished it, we would have been higher.

"But we had an average start and then dropped points against mid-table sides. We beat all the top sides - including the 1-0 win over FC United at Gigg Lane. That was a highlight as there were 6,000 fans there and to score the winner in injury time was amazing. I stood up in the directors box to cheer and looked round to see a sea of red and white glaring at me. I quickly sat down!

"But we have a young squad here and they have done well and hopefully we can build on it for next season."
