SOCCER stars from all over Lancashire were showing off their skills in the hunt for the "Asian Soccer Idol" at Hyndburn Sports Centre.

The event, "the AYS Academy", was organised by Asian Image magazine.

They held a competition in January with young football players from around Bolton, Preston, Blackburn and Hyndburn showing off their skills.

The grand final was at Hyndburn SC on Sunday and Great Harwood-born footballer David Dunn, now at Birmingham City, presented the prizes.

And two Huncoat United stars received top awards with Harris Ali and Kamran Khan impressing judges, Sports Development Officer Lee Boyer and Manchester United coach Charles Jackson. They finished first and second in the Under 10's section.

Scouts from Premiership clubs as well as Coca Cola League clubs were watching the event, searching for the next generation of stars.
