SYDNEY Street Working Men’s Club knocked spots off the opposition to make a clean sweep in the CIU Dominoes competition.
Not only did they win the CIU League but they also collected the doubles prize, along with the individual award and the team knock-out competition.
It is the first time one club has won all four titles in more than 50 years of the competitions running.
And there was a delighted team whose ages range from John Freeman, who is 56 and the youngest, up to around 85-years-old.
The team consists of Keith Bloomer, Alan Sowerbutts, Peter Wright, John Freeman, Jimmy Keen, Joe Sherburn, Joe McMurgh, Gerry Finch and Brian Howarth.
Peter Wright won the individual competition, seeing off fellow Sydney Street rival Alan Sowerbutts in the final.
And Peter then linked up with Brian Howarth to win the Doubles competition.
The players all meet up every Monday for a round-robin dominoes competition to make sure they keep up to scratch.
It starts at 8.30pm and anyone is welcome.
