GREAT Harwood Town have lost one of their more experienced players following captain Neil Kennedy's move to Fleetwood Town.

Defender Kennedy, 31, has teamed up again with ex-Harwood boss Martin Eatough who is assistant to Mick Hoyle at Fleetwood.

His departure leaves Showground manager John Hughes with a young squad struggling to put any kind of form together in North West Counties Division Two.

Without a win or a goal in three league games, they made their exit from the Second Division Knock-Out Trophy away to Oldham Town last week.

Harwood Town entertain Ashton Town tomorrow (kick-off 2.30pm).

Manager Hughes said: "I can understand Neil being a bit despondent with things at Harwood and wanting to play at a higher level at the age he is. But we will keep going with the youngsters and I see Russell Kay as a good ready-made replacement for him at centre-back."
