TEN-YEAR-OLD Kyle Smith was the star of the show at the Accrington Riding Club presentation evening.
The Oswaldtwistle rider became the overall points champion at Accrington Town Hall - a title which is awarded annually to the senior or junior member with most points over the season.
He collected his tally on his mount Ellie Mae.
His mum Gillian said: "Kyle is a real inspiration to all young children as he only started riding at Christmas last year and has progressed really well throughout the year.
"He spent three weeks in January on the lead rein before riding alone on his pony Ellie Mae, which is owned by Kelly Sagar.
"Ellie has taught Kyle everything he knows and we are grateful to Kelly for loaning us Ellie and to Accrington Riding Club for their ongoing support.
"Kyle still has a lot of learning to do but, if he continues with his riding, I think he really will make a good little jockey."
Kyle won other awards including the Working Hunter Champion, the Newcomers Trophy with David Lafond, the Inspirational Trophy and the Junior Victor Ludorum.
More than 200 family and friends attended the awards for the club, which is led by Elaine Nellist.
During 2007, more than 100 riders have battled it out in 61 classes with the aim of becoming the champion in their class.
