THE man behind Loweiy's Lucky Bus is set to take a back seat role.

Steve Lowe has been running coaches to away matches for the past two years.

He is stepping down to focus his energies on running a new supporters' club and the fans' football team.

The service will continue under new management.

Explaining his decision, Steve said: "We have recently set up a new supporters' group called The Stanley Ultras. We are trying to create a carnival atmosphere at games with big flags, music and drums.

"Every fan does his bit but we are a bit livelier."

Steve said the away coach would now be run by the Stanley Ultras group.

He said: "It will be run by two or three other fans. I have had some good times, especially the FA Cup run when we took 200 fans to Bournemouth and 100 to Colchester."

The Ultras are planning a "Raise your Scarf'' event on 3 January when Stanley take on Halifax in front of the Sky cameras.

Steve, a forestry contract manager, added: "We want all the fans to raise their scarves above their heads to show their support."

Seats on Steve's final coach service to Forest Green Rovers on 4 December are available on 07775 704 072.
