More than 260 boys and girls put themselves through their paces at the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Year Five and Six Cross Country Championships.
They were held at at Wilson Playing Fields, home of Hyndburn Athletic Club and the course was set up by club volunteers and proved to be a testing but enjoyable event.
Hyndburn Partnership competition manager Roger Haythornthwaite said: "A big thank you to everyone connected with Hyndburn Athletics Club, for their part in hosting and setting up another fantastic event.
"The club’s information was given out to every school with details for everyone taking place, about club training nights for boys and girls.
"Once again this event has grown and to have 23 schools competing is great for all involved with School Sport."
