ACCRINGTON Road Runner Sarah Ridehalgh made it a first for herself and the club.
The runner stormed to victory by more than a minute in the Lancashire Cross County Championships at Blackburn on a snowy Saturday,
It was all-or-nothing on the one race and Sarah, 34, handled the conditions the best to move up from fourth placed last year and clinch the championship for the first time for Accrington RR.
"I only started doing cross countries last year when we did the Mid Lancs series, so its all quite new to me really," said Sarah, who got into running in her late 20s and has gone from strength to strength.
"I was fourth senior lady last year, so this is the first time I have won the cross country championships and from what I believe it is first time Accrington Road Runners has won it too.
"Conditions on Saturday were pretty tough. All other races in the North West had been postponed due to the snow and ice conditions."
