BOSS John Coleman, chairman Eric Whalley and midfielder Andy Gouck are all looking forward to Friday's clash against their former club Morecambe.

The game will hold big memories for Reds chief Coleman who was a fans favourite at Christie Park and scored countless goals for the Shrimps. He was also the first Morecambe player to be selected for the England semi-professional squad in 1992.

"Personally it will be enjoyable to face them in my own right. I left there about eight years ago and had some great times there. It is the first time I have faced them in a competitive game and hopefully I will get a good reception.

"I am not setting any targets over the Christmas - we aim to win every match!"

Gouck signed for Stanley from Morecambe in December 2002.

"I don't really look back. I only played for them for a year and a half and then moved on - I just concentrate on who I am playing for at the moment and I am really enjoying it at Accrington.

"Morecambe have still got players there that I played alongside and they will be strong. They are similar to us in that their home is a fortress - they are a good home team and we will have to put on a good performance in both matches.

"But while Coley may not set targets, I will be happy with seven points out of nine over the Christmas period."

Chairman Eric Whalley was manager at Morecambe in the mid-1980s.

"I was only there about five months. They were in the Premier Division of what is the UniBond League now and I got there just before the season started and all the players had just left. I had to start from scratch.

"After about five months, I resigned. I couldn't do the job justice. All the people there were lovely but it didn't work out.

"It is good to be involved in a competitive game against them. It is a local derby and I am sure Coley is looking forward to it as he is held in high esteem there.

"But, at the end of the day, it is just three points which are at stake. They are full-time and it will be difficult for us but we always expect to win!"
