Accrington fighters showed the gloves were off as three clinched English titles in a night of full contact kickboxing at the New Era.
Fighters from all over the country came to Hyndburn to contest various belts and top fight of the night involved Fit to Fight’s Luke Donnelly.
He got up off the canvas from a shock knockdown in the first to win his fight – his first WKA English title at -65kg.
In an amazing comeback, the 24-year-old dominated the later rounds with constant pressure, throwing five punches to every one of his opponents and landing some hurtful body kicks to win the title.
Luke has been training at the gym in Back Wellington Street for more than six years.¿He currently holds a black belt and now a national title in full contact kickboxing.
The next title fight was current English -80kg champion Kori Fox, also from Fit to Fight,
He was moving up a weight to -85kg to fight Justin Lawson from Phoenix Kickboxing.
Kori won every round with another quality display of full contact kickboxing, keeping Lawson on the backfoot scoring with combinations to win by unanimous decision to make Kori a two-weight champion.
The final bout was Fite Rite’s Jordan Riley, 24, who had to weather an early storm by the hard punching Steve Babb from Liverpool to go on to dominate the bout with some excellent kicking techniques.
He won on a unanimous points win and Jordan is now a triple English champion – he has won all his belts at New Era in the 75kg category.
