UP-AND-coming cricketer Levi Wolfenden has enjoyed a good summer after being picked for the Lancashire under-11s side.
The 11-year-old Church all-rounder is carrying on a family cricketing tradition as his grandad, Don Holt, is chairman of Church CC and uncles Alec and Sam play for the first team.
Mount Carmel High School pupil Levi competed in nine matches for his county. He won five of them - against Durham, Wales, Yorkshire, Cheshire and Buckinghamshire - lost two and enjoyed a winning draw in two.
He has had several outstanding performances. Against Wales, he took 3-12 while against arch-rivals Yorkshire he took 2-9.
And there were two "Man of the Match" performances where he took 4-6 against Cheshire and then 55 runs - with nine fours - against Devon before taking 1-22 with the ball.
Levi has moved up from the under-13s to the under-15s to the third eleven for Church this summer and, at the rate he is going, could make a breakthrough into the first team in a couple of years.
