Pop star Diana Vickers has announced the date for her highly anticipated new single.

The Huncoat singer will release the song Cinderella which she co-wrote on Sunday, July 21.

It comes from her long-awaited second album Music To Make Boys Cry, to be released in the autumn.

The album is her first to be released with label So Recordings after splitting from Sony/RCA in 2011.

Her first album, Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree, reached number one on the charts as did her first single Once.

In a newsletter to her fans, the 21-year-old said: “I have a brand new label home and an amazing new album to shout about! It’s finally finished and I am so excited.”

Diana is also offering budding artists the chance to create cover artwork for the new single inspired by Cinderella. She added: “Anything goes, and my favourite will be used as the digital single cover! So get doodling and submit the entries to cinderella@sorecordings.com.”

It promises to be a big year for Diana who will appear in the film The Perfect Wave later this year starring Clint Eastwood’s son Scott.
