Talented college students took to the stage to celebrate their college’s 125th anniversary.

Lucy Fitzpatrick, 17, from Holly Street in Oswaldtwistle and Jade Collinson, also 17 from Paddock Street, also Oswaldtwistle, and Lance Muir, 18, from East Crescent, Accrington, were part of the cast who showcased their theatrical talents during the three variety shows held at Blackburn College.

The show celebrated 125 years of popular entertainment from the Charleston to Saturday Night Fever, and Marie Lloyd to the Bee Gees.

Lucy and Jade donned their best ‘Old Dears’ costumes as part of the entertainment and Lance, along with Bobby Tait, recreated the double act of Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore for the ‘In the Pub’ sketch.

Nick Maynard, performing arts tutor, said everyone worked extremely hard to put on a great show.

He added: “The students took us on a journey through time, with performances reflecting the Victorian era through to the modern day.”
