Two cars which caught on fire on a residential road are believed to have been torched by arsonists.

Firefighters from Hyndburn were called to Lower Antley Street in Accrington at 8.15pm on Bank Holiday Monday, May 30 and found the cars on fire.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters used two hose reels and one breathing apparatus set to extinguish the fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately.”
