Accrington lad Reece Bibby has taken another step toward glory in the X Factor after his band Stereo Kicks again impressed judges on the show.
There are now just seven acts left competing to the X-Factor champion of 2014.
Reece’s dad Jamie said they are feeling a bit more confident after the weekend’s performance.
He said: “We were really happy with their performance this weekend.
“We knew that they changed their song so we went into this weekend quite worried.
“The boys worked so hard and were practising right up to the last minute and they smashed it.
“It just shows how hard working they are.
“They had planned to sing Mirrors which they performed at the judges houses, but it just wasn’t working
“I think after this weekend they’re starting to believe in themselves and the public believe in them and are really getting behind them.
“To be down to the final seven from 16 acts is just fantastic, I know how capable they are and there’s more to come.”
The judges praised the group for their performance.
Mel B said: “It was a great performance but I still feel like I don’t know you.
“This is my problem, you all need to be identifiable, I don’t think the public has got to know enough individually to really get behind you and support you.”
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said: “I feel like each week you come up against a problem and its difficult for you, but I have to applaud for that performance with 24 hours notice.”
Bookies odds for the eight piece to win the competition stand at 33 to 1.
Ben Haenow and Fleur East are the favourites with odds of three to one.
Reece’s first audition has now been viewed more than two million times on Youtube, and Stereo Kicks have more than 190,000 followers on Twitter.
