STANLEY skipper Peter Cavanagh is keeping his fingers-crossed he won’t need an operation on his Achilles.
The 27-year-old was diagnosed with a tear on his Achilles this week and faces a spell on the sidelines.
It could range from a few weeks to a few months if he needs an operation.
"I am keeping my fingers crossed I won’t need an operation," said the Stanley captain.
"It is really frustrating as I was desperate to play a full season."
