JUNIOR FOOTBALL ROUND-UP:
MILL HILL: IN THE Lancashire Amateur Cup, Mill Hill lost 4-2 to Hurst Green with Sargeson scoring both goals.
In the Accrington and District Training 2000 League on Saturday, the Under nines Red put eight past Globe Bullough. On target were Shaw (three), Tasdemir (two), Javad and Gurjee.
The Under nines Blue were 6-1 winners over Greyhound Ford with Callum Newton celebrating three and Almond, Crump and Connor Newton getting the others.
The Under 10s were 50th Anniversary Consolation Cup medal winners while the Under 11s put five past Pendle Forest. Barnes (two), Goodyear, Cooke and Close were the scorers.
The Under 13s Blue lost 5-2 to Ossy Rangers despite Nuttall scoring twice while the Under 14s were 2-0 winners over Akzo Green with Parrington and Ralph the scorers.
The Under 16s won 4-2 against Huncoat with Hoctor grabbing three and McInulty the other.
Elsewhere, the Under 10 girls were 9-0 cup winners over Wigan Athletic with Dudgeon scoring five, McPartlan (two), Brindle and Otley the others.
On Sunday, the senior team got a walkover against Baroque in the cup while Mill Hill Reserves were 4-1 winners against West Bull in their cup. Butterworth, Langford, Lee and Smalley were the goal heroes.
On Sunday, in the East Lancs Alliance League, Rahman and Barnes were on target as the Under eights Red beat Ossy St Mary’s 2-1.
The Under eights White had Brindle to thank for his three goals that won them the game in a 3-2 victory over Rossendale United.
The Under eights Blue saw off Rossendale United Boys 5-1with Newton scoring three, Gilgunn and Gibbs on target.
The Under nines Blue lost 2-1 to Crown in the cup, Brindle the goalscorer while the Under nines Reds lost 3-1 to Ossy Rangers with Almond on target.
The Under 10s Red lost out 2-1 to Knuzden in the cup with Welch the scorer while the Blue team beat Huncoat AllStars 3-0. Bentley, Longworth and Rowe were the goal heroes.
The Under 11s were 8-1 victors over Darwen Rangers in the cup while the Under 12s suffered a 5-1 defeat to Langho. Jackson, Phelps, Swift, Cattermole and Wilkinson got the goals.
The Under 13s put 10 past Walton West End in the LFA Cup. Mulcrone grabbed a hat-trick and the others went to McKenna, Duckworth, Shaw, Skinner, Kay, Butterworth and Tucker.
The Under 16s lost 1-0 to Burnley Belvedere.
OSSY RANGERS: The Under nines put up a fine display against Mill Hill Red to go through to the next round of the cup. Two goals from Scott Murray and one from Alfie Cook saw them to a 3-1 win. Niall Lathom was MOTM.
The Under 13s also beat Mill Hill on Saturday. Sam Cook opened the scoring, followed by two goals from MOTM Isaac Archer which helped them to a 4-2 victory. Billy Poole added the other.
The Under 13s Sunday team played out a fantastic match against Clitheroe Wolves finally finishing 4-3 victors. MOTM Gabriel Whelan scored all four goals including the winner in the last minute of the game
RISHTON UNITED: In the Accrington and District League, the Under 11s Blue lost 8-0 at Mill Hill. However there was better news as the Under 12s won 4-2 at Knuzden thanks to goals from Charlie Feeney, Ryan Cothliff, Jack Goggins (two).
Four goals from Hassan Akhtar gave the Under 15s victory against local rivals Great Harwood and also on the score sheet were Kane Barker (two), Liam Mcnulty (two) and Kyle Driver as Rishton ran out 9-1 winners.
In the North Valley League, the Under eights lost 5-3 to Readstone. Alexander Braysford scored twice for his team.
Meanwhile, the Under nines fought out a well earned 1-1 draw with Brierfield Celtic.
It was cup action for the Under 11s as they pulled of an upset beating Barrowford Celtic Black 3-2 with Tom Bartley scoring a hat-trick. MOTM was Matt Aspinall.
There was mixed fortunes for Rishton Seniors playing in the Blackburn Combination. The first team lost 5-2 at Clifton while the reserves were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Enty.
But there was better luck for the reserves as they then beat Knowles Arms 3-2.
CHURCH: The Under 11s lost 4-1 to Pendle Forest Green despite going ahead early on. Top scorer Josh Graham smashed home his fifth goal in six matches. But the away side soon equalised and went 2-1 ahead on the stroke of half-time before scoring two late goals. Manager’s joint MOTMs were Tomas Smith and Josh Graham.
The Under 16s lost 8-2 at Feniscowles and Pleasington. They conceded three goals in a five minutes spell and, from then on, it was an uphill battle. Their goals came from Oliver Marsden and Martin Wordon. Manager’s MOTM was Christopher Bowker.
HUNCOAT UNITED: The Under nines were 4-0 winners over Great Harwood Rovers while the Under 10s All Stars beat Mill Hill 3-0 in the cup.
The Under 11 lost 8-0 to Great Harwood Rovers while the Under 12s lost to Clayton Park Rangers 2-1 on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Under 12s ran out 3-2 winners over the same team with MOTM Jack Brooks and goals from Chris Dwyer, Connor Demain and Spencer Harris.
The Under 13s beat Clitheroe Wolves 6-1. Goals came from Ben Lord (two), Dominic Hardman, Jack Brooks and Chris Dwyer (two).
The Under 15s were 2-0 winners over Wilpshire Wanderers on Saturday while the Under 16s lost 4-2 to Mill Hill.
GREYHOUND FORD: The Under 15s lost 4-0 to a strong Darwen Rangers side. Greyhound Ford MOTM was Nathan Smith.
GREAT HARWOOD ROVERS: The Under 11s won 8-0 against Huncoat. Rovers dominated with Kyle Parker scoring two in the first half, Oliver Cruse and Nick Catlow adding two more to make it 4-0 at half- time. Harwood scored four more in the second half with George Nightingale grabbing two and MOTM George Ramsbottom scoring two. Huncoat won a penalty late on which was saved by Rovers keeper Matthew Bunn.
The Under 12s lost 6-5 to Clitheroe Wolves with goals from Jack Holligan, Tom Blackmore, Nick Widdop and two from James Kenny. The following week they beat Church 17-0 in a goal fest. The scorers were Thomas Braithwaite (three), Marcus Robinson (three), Bradley Martin, Tom Blackmore (two), Joseph Starkie (two), James Kenny (two), Sam Jones (two) and a brace from MOTM Jack Holligan. Rovers lost their second game of the season 3-2 against Huncoat United. Jack Hargreaves and Arron Phillipson scored with MOTM Scott Sykes.
The Under 10s made it through to the second round of the cup with a 5-1 win over Blackburn Eagles. Goalscorers were Nathan Cox (two), Zac Geldard and Harry Swiatzcak and one own goal. Rovers then went to the top of the table with a 4-0 win against Belthorn. Nathan Cox scored all four goals and Blake Barrett was MOTM.
The Senior team stayed top of the table beating the Kings Arms 1-0. Jordan Marsden got the only goal while keeper Richard Law Riding got MOTM.
ST JOSEPH'S: The Under 12s got off to the worst possible start against Clayton Park Rangers conceding three goals within 12 minutes. Goals from Jonathan Whittle and Declan Southward got the Saints back onto the game but they were hit on the break in the second half. Jack Bailey added two late goals but the Saints were just edged out of the contest.
